There is such a thing as a free lunch: Part 1 of 3

(This is the one about free tickets.)

Back in November 2007, when I started blogging, I never, ever, imagined that I would have 100 people look at my site, let alone the 3,000 that have now graced me with their presence. I never dreamed that I would meet people at parties, go to introduce myself and have them say, "Oh, I know who YOU are!" I never thought I'd be emailing Guy Kawasaki, meeting the adorable children of the pillars of the Portland Tech Community, never, ever, ever.

So I was surprised to get an email from Tim Krause of The Milagro Theatre inviting me and a guest to see The Labyrinth of Desire, with the hopes that I would then review the play on my blog. Sadly, I was not able to make the dates, but sent them an email thanking them for inviting me, asking them to keep me on their list and saying that I might give them a little blog love anyway.

Well, it turns out that my parents went. And they paid for tickets. So thanks to them, I do in fact have a review.

Ready?

Mom: "It had lots of fighting and lots of kissing."

Dad: "Three feet away from our faces!"

So, if you are in to fighting and kissing. (And, admit it, who isn't) Please go check out The Milagro Theatre's The Labyrinth of Desire and tell them that Missburrows sent you.

That ought to confuse the heck out of them.

you are so very pretty and popular. Will you consider being my friend?

That's ashame you didn't get to go. Milagro has a reputation for unique and unusual performances, just up your alley!

Damn, I am flattered to know you now! I worked in Portland Theatre for over 10 years, and I never got free Milagro tickets!

I'm excited to be your friend for selfish & vain reasons too! :)

Mason had an OCT acting class at the Milagro; it was a cool space, and they invited us to watch a performance by some visiting Chinese actors. Very very cool.

cami: Who are you again?

bubblewench: Well, technically, I didn't get anything. It's just random luck anyway.

stephanie: Yes, I hope they email me again but I may have scared them instead. :)

Kissing and fighting. Your parents did not have to watch the make-up-sex, did they?

stu: I'm pretty sure they did. And I'm pretty sure it made them uncomfortable.

My kids think I'm dumb for being a "blogger." However, I don't think so. It's just something we do from time-to-time to fill in gaps, express ourselves...avoid doing what really needs doin' around the house.
You know what I mean?

holly: stop being such a tease. it makes me cry.

david: I think local theatre is great! Even better when it is free.

boggywoggy: I thought it would be a little side project, instead it has become pretty all consuming. But it sure is fun!

talina: OOhhh, I'm crossing my fingers for you! Portland is awesome.

meleah: Quick and to the point!

Wow. your famous. And I know you, right? I still know you. I think.

Hey, I posted something that had nothing to do with kids or mommies or stuff. Aren't you happy for me?

missburrows said...

sandi: Nope. No pay. And they didn't email me again either. :(

dapoppins: I am always proud of you! You are the butt-less wonder!
